BUILDING PADS
Select fill and pit run to get grade up, crushed stone on top to give equipment and trucks something solid to sit on.
ROAD BASE
Graded base under asphalt, concrete or a gravel drive — the layer that binds, compacts and carries the load.
BACKFILL
Sand, pit run and select fill for filling behind walls, around structures and back over what you just dug up.
TRENCH & UTILITY BEDDING
Pea gravel, #57 stone and sand under and around pipe and conduit — even support without point loads on the line.
DRAINAGE
Clean, open-graded rock for French drains, trench drains, culvert outfalls and under-slab work. No fines to plug it up.
EROSION CONTROL
Rip rap sized to the flow, placed on ditch bottoms, bank slopes, outfalls and shorelines to stop the washout.
LAYDOWN YARDS
Crushed stone over a fill base keeps material, pipe racks and forklifts out of the mud through a Louisiana wet season.
OILFIELD LOCATIONS

Rules Of Thumb
- Angular locks, round rolls. Crushed stone compacts and holds a shape; river gravel stays loose.
- If it has to drain, it has to be clean. Open-graded washed rock with the fines screened out.
- If it has to carry traffic, it needs fines. Graded base binds together and compacts tight.
- Fill goes in lifts, not in one big dump. Compact as you go or it settles later.
- Finish work wants sand — concrete, mason and plaster sand each grade differently for a reason.
- Bigger water, bigger rock. Rip rap is sized to the flow it has to stand up to.
- It's priced by the ton, not the yard. Give us square footage and depth and we'll do the conversion.

COMMON QUESTIONS.
How much aggregate do I need?
Get us the length, width and depth of the area — or the square footage and how deep you want it — along with what you're building. Aggregate is sold by the ton, so the tonnage depends on the material as well as the volume. Call (337) 409-5961 with your dimensions and we'll work it out with you before anything gets loaded.
Do you deliver sand and gravel?
Yes. We deliver aggregate by the load with dump trucks across Southwest Louisiana and Acadiana, running out of our DeRidder and Abbeville yards — DeRidder, Leesville, Lake Charles, Sulphur, Jennings, Oakdale, Abbeville and the surrounding parishes. Farther out is usually workable too; call and we'll price the haul.
Is there a minimum load?
It depends on the material and how far it has to travel. Small jobs and big pad jobs get handled differently. Call (337) 409-5961 and tell us the material, the tonnage and the site — we'll tell you what the load looks like.
Can you spread it, or do you just dump it?
We can drop a straight pile where you want it or lay a load out in a windrow down a drive as the truck moves. Anything past that — grading, shaping and compacting a pad or base — needs a machine on site. Tell us what you need before the truck rolls and we'll tell you what we can do on your ground.
What's the difference between #57 stone and pea gravel?
#57 stone is angular crushed rock. The broken faces lock into each other, so it holds its shape and compacts into a stable, free-draining layer — which is why it goes under drives, slabs and pipe. Pea gravel is small, rounded, washed river stone. It drains just as well, but it stays loose and rolls underfoot, so it's better for bedding, backfill around pipe and decorative work than for anything that has to carry a load.
How is aggregate priced?
By the ton, plus the haul. What you pay depends on the material, how many tons you take and how far it has to go from the nearest yard. We don't post a price list because the haul moves the number — call (337) 409-5961 with the material, the tonnage and the delivery address and we'll quote it.
